Business consulting for firms that have outgrown guesswork

You built something real. Revenue is there, staff are in place, customers keep coming. But margins are thinner than they should be, decisions take longer than they used to, and last quarter's plan is already stale. We sit inside your operation for weeks, not hours, and leave you with changes that show up in the accounts.

What we actually do

Four disciplines. Each one earns its place by producing a measurable return within the first quarter.

Profit diagnostics

We pull apart your P&L line by line, map where cash actually goes, and flag the three to five changes that will shift your net margin fastest. Most clients see a 4 to 9 percentage-point improvement within 90 days. The diagnostic itself takes two weeks and costs nothing until we agree on a scope of work.

Operations restructuring

Warehousing that costs too much, approval chains that slow delivery, teams duplicating effort across departments. We redesign workflows on the ground, test changes with your staff, and hand over documented SOPs. A typical restructuring engagement runs six to eight weeks.

Leadership alignment

Growth stalls when the board wants one thing and the senior team is pulling in three directions. We run structured sessions over two days, surface the real disagreements, and produce a single page of priorities that every leader signs off on. No jargon-heavy decks, no vague "alignment workshops."

Growth modelling

Before you hire, open a second site, or enter a new market, we build a financial model that stress-tests the decision against five scenarios. You get a spreadsheet you own and understand, not a consultant's black box. Turnaround is ten working days from kick-off.

How an engagement runs

1

Diagnostic call

Forty-five minutes on the phone. We ask hard questions about revenue, cost structure and what keeps you up at night. No charge.

2

On-site week

One consultant spends a full week inside your business: observing, interviewing staff, reading the real numbers. We pay for our own hotel.

3

Findings report

A written document, typically twelve to fifteen pages, listing each problem, its estimated cost, and a proposed fix with a timeline. Delivered within five days of the on-site visit.

4

Implementation

We roll up our sleeves and work alongside your team for four to ten weeks. Fees are fixed at the start. If we run over time, that is our problem, not yours.

Two recent projects

Real numbers from real clients. Names used with permission.

Food manufacturing facility in northern England

Hargreaves Foods, Bradford

+7.2% net margin

A family-run ready-meals manufacturer with £11m turnover was losing money on three of its twelve product lines without knowing it. We re-costed every SKU, renegotiated two supplier contracts, and removed one line entirely. The margin gain appeared within the first full quarter after our engagement ended.

Software company office in Sheffield

Pennine Digital, Sheffield

38% faster project delivery

A 45-person software agency was missing deadlines on roughly half its client projects. The root cause was not engineering talent; it was a broken intake process that let sales commit to timelines without checking capacity. We redesigned the handoff between sales and delivery, introduced a weekly capacity review, and trained three project leads. Average project cycle time dropped from 14 weeks to 8.7 weeks over six months.

Questions we hear often

The diagnostic call is free. The on-site week and findings report together are £3,200 plus VAT. Implementation fees vary by scope but are always fixed before work begins. A typical four-week implementation runs between £12,000 and £22,000.

Yes. About a third of our clients are based elsewhere in the UK. We still do the on-site week in person, wherever you are. We have worked with firms in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and London in the past twelve months.

Our sweet spot is businesses turning over between £3m and £40m with 15 to 250 employees. Smaller than that and the engagement fee is hard to justify. Larger than that and you probably need a bigger firm with deeper benches.

We agree on two or three specific KPIs at the start of every engagement: net margin percentage, cycle time, revenue per head, debtor days, or similar. We measure them before we start and again 90 days after we finish. If the numbers have not moved, we refund half our implementation fee. That clause is in the contract.

Always. We send a mutual NDA before the diagnostic call. Your data stays yours. We never share client information with competitors or use it in marketing without written permission.
